Free Things to Do in Battle Creek

May 2, 2019

Summer days are almost upon us. Once that warm weather hits, it’ll be time to make memories outdoors with our family and friends. Luckily, there is no shortage of fun to be had in Battle Creek in the upcoming months.

In preparation for summer, our staff has put together a list of free summer events we are looking forward to in Battle Creek.

Summer Concerts

What better way to celebrate summer than with some amazing music? Enjoy summer evenings with concerts hosted every Thursday by the Post Band. The concert series starts on June 6th at 6 p.m. in the Festival Market Square.

Movies in the Park

Bring your chair and blanket to Mill Race Park once a month for a movie in the park! This event is free and all movies are family friendly. The fun starts at dusk, but get there early for great seats! On June 7th the movie will be Ralph Breaks the Internet, on July 19th the movie will be Space Jam, and the final movie will be Incredibles 2 on August 9th. Don’t miss out!

International SummerFest

International SummerFest is back on Saturday, August 17th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.! We are so excited for our favorite event of the year, and this year will be bigger than ever. That’s why we are moving the event to Kellogg Community College in order to accommodate more people. Join us for the 41st year of SummerFest, the festival that celebrates the rich history and culture of Battle Creek. We can’t wait to see you there!

Maranda’s Park Party

Maranda’s Park Party will be in Battle Creek this year on Thursday, July 18th at the Carson/Rizor Athletic Field. This free event includes entertainment, community resources, and free lunch for anyone under the age of 18. The fun kicks off at 11:30 a.m. and lasts for 2 hours. Make sure to stop by.

The excitement doesn’t stop here. For a full list of summer events in Battle Creek, check out our Downtown Event list!
